Kiley Ranch has designated over 90 acres of natural open space. In addition, around 30 acres have been designated for neighborhood parks, including the Linear Park, and approximately 14 acres of pocket parks are planned within single family residential areas. A landscape buffer adjacent to all arterial and collector roads is also required.
Thus, total common open space for Kiley Ranch will be over 100 acres, or approximately 24 percent of the project.
Kiley Ranch Communities is in the visioning process of turning approximately 200 acres of wetlands and adjacent salt grass uplands into a special Wildlife Wetland Preserve. The intention is to create a home to a host of flora and fauna types, contribute to a healthy ecosystem, and present a number of recreational and educational opportunities to members of the Kiley Ranch community. Although still in the planning stage, possible ideas include creating bicycle trails, walking paths, and places to picnic, relax and take in the beautiful views or watch for the abundant waterfowl. The Wildlife Wetland Preserve is envisioned as a place for quiet enjoyment, a local haven for outdoor enthusiasts, a seedbed for ongoing research, and a means to enrich the minds and lives of Kiley Ranch children and adults.
